Overview
I've grown up in the outdoors. From backyard nights camping in a tent, to frigid rainstorms spent mopping water from my tent floor, to long nights under the stars in the backcountry. When I get a chance to get away for a little while, I like to spend it outdoors. My favorite is backpacking, there's something about spending weeks at a time in the wilderness, living off whatever you're carrying on your back - you can get so much deeper into nature than you'd ever think possible.
I've spent the most time in the Northern NM Sangre de Cristo Mountains, around Carson National Forest and Santa Fe National Forest. But I also grew up around the Appalaichans of NC, especially around Pisgah National Forest.
Notably, in summer of 2025, I worked as a Trail Crew Foreman in New Mexico. I spent two-week hitches teaching the tools/techniques of trailbuilding to 16-20 year olds at a backcounty 'spike' site for one week, then backpacking around the region with them for the following week. Next in my journey, I'm interested in pursuing Mountaineering, building on my outdoor skills to explore higher and steeper peaks and areas.
